I am Technician at Usafi Comfort Ltd, a private onsite sewage treatment company in Nairobi Kenya for the past 1 year 9 months. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) with great interest in environment biotechnology.

Prior to joining Usafi comfort, I had internship at Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) ,a parastatal, in 2015 and was attached to the Kariobangi sewage treatment plant. My responsibilities included and not limited to, sample collection, analysis and equipment calibration. From 2018-2019, I had another internship programme at Kenya Plant Health and Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS),a parastatal, where I was attached to the Analytical Chemistry Lab and seed field inspection activities. My responsibilities included, sampling of soil, water and other agro inputs. At Usafi my responsibility include installation and asset performance monitoring of the plants.

I’ve been involved in two major research projects. One is combating MLND disease in seed maize, a collaboration between CIMMIYT, KEPHIS, KALRO and Kenya Seed Company in 2018. The second is a performance study, Understanding the Kenyan wastewater. A research between Daiki Axis Japan and Usafi Comfort Ltd 2021. I did the sampling and lab delivery of the samples.

My career objective is to work in a challenging environment that will enhance my skills in the field of environmental biotechnology, conservation and sustainability.

Innovation cannot happen without mastery and that is one of my core values. It’s through learning that we grow and through growth we’re likely to succeed. I would like to share the knowledge and experience in sustainability and open to learn more on the industry trend on the subject matter.
